Rogers High School

The 255,000 sf Rogers High School was designed to provide a flexible environment that supports a departmental, interdisciplinary or house concept. Creative design maximizes the multi-use spaces to provide both academic and community use of the Gymnasium, which is designed as a State Competition Hosting Venue for Basketball, Volleyball and Wrestling competitions.

The school was designed to take advantage of passive environmental features to reduce energy costs and environmental impact; a glass cafeteria wing opens to warm south light in the winter, while a louver array blocks direct southern light in the warmer months. This controlled natural light also minimizes the need for artificial lighting during the day, contributing to the 50% energy savings over a comparably-sized building, and to the award of the highest ever at the time energy rebate by Excel.
