Rocky Gap Casino Resort

In May 2012, Lakes Entertainment retained LSE Architects to provide planning and design services for their proposed expansion of the Rocky Gap Resort. The current resort, located within Rocky Gap State Park in Flintstone, Maryland consisted of a 215 room hotel, event center, two restaurants and a golf course. It is Lakes’ intension to develop a destination resort that offered gaming and dining amenities to the already successful property. This expansion project includes a new casino floor housing over 1,000 Class III slot machines, feature bar with live entertainment, sports bar restaurant, support areas, new hotel lobby and parking ramp for 400 cars. Designed to complement the existing structure, the building materials and massing use wood siding, stone base (from a local quarry) and exposed structural trusses. The color palette was developed to be in keeping with the requirements of the Maryland State Park design guidelines.
