Blaisdell YMCA

In response to increasing use, the YMCA of metropolitan Minneapolis renovated and expanded their Blaisdell YMCA facility located in south Minneapolis. The $3.7 million project included the renovation of existing spaces, as well as the demolition of a dilapidated portion of the facility to make way for additional 15,000 sf of new main program area. The new addition included a new main entry, welcome desk, staff offices, multipurpose workout studios, flexible community rooms, childcare center, an interactive gaming center, and a second floor cardiovascular, fitness, and weight room, which is filled with natural daylight and south facing glass.

This facility remodeling has proven to be wildly successful and the YMCA memberships and presence in the community at this branch has grown significantly since the completion of the new addition and remodeling.
