North High School Career and Technology Center

The design of the Minneapolis Public Schools North High School is a multi-phased project that maximizes the District’s significant investment by creating a new secure and welcoming entry and Cafeteria /Student Center, key to the new  collegiate feeling environment. This significant addition connects two existing building with a new cafeteria commons and performance space, improving flow and safety, adding a holistic feel of the school. Additionally, reconfigurations of the classroom wings creates new small group learning and classroom commons and breakout space. Other improvements include the introduction of new daylighting into the existing classrooms, the integration of technology, new electrical, lighting and mechanical improvements throughout.  As part of the District’s Masterplan, the school will also serve as the host for the new 60,000 sf North Tech Center with a focus on Engineering and Robots, Creative Communications and Broadcasting, and Computer Technology.
