Children’s mental health affects more than the individual; it affects the entire community. The Washburn Center for Children is recognized nationally as a leading Mental Health provider, treating more than 2,000 children and their families, and training 50 to 60 interns annually. LSE worked with author Richard Louv to develop a biophilic approach and proprioceptive play space.
As the design Architect for the new cutting edge facility, LSE Architects designed an early education and new clinic model as a healing environment, that implements the highest level of environmental standards and supports the clinical services and training provided by this center of excellence in children’s mental health. LSE worked closely with the Washburn Center for Children to secure over $10M in alternative funding sources.
